| I always liked effects where a ring vanished |
| and appeared in another place. |

| When I was working with the Cryptex design for my DaVinci Code effect, I was kicking around the idea of having a vanished ring appear deep inside a locked vault. |
|
| It was practically impossible to accomplish this due to the complexity of the locking mechanism and the tightness of the internal compartments. |

| I tried several different designs that all failed until I eventually came up with a method that worked |
